Trump Bashes John McCain: There Are ‘Far Worse Stains’ Against Him Than Dossier Reports
President Donald Trump lashed out at John McCain on Twitter Saturday, criticizing the late Senator for his vote against a repeal of Obamacare’s individual mandate.
The president quoted a comment from former independent counsel Ken Starr, who spoke about reports that a McCain associate passed the Steele dossier on Trump to media outlets.
Starr called McCain an “American hero,” but said if the reports are true, it is “unfortunately a very dark stain” on the Arizona Republican who died last year.
In Trump’s tweet, he added that McCain “had far worse ‘stains’ than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace after years of campaigning to repeal and replace!”

McCain voted against the “skinny repeal” of the Affordable Care Act in 2017, in an act of defiance that Trump has never quite let go.
