Bill Hemmer Confronts Huckabee Sanders On Trump Tweets: ‘More Personal Than It Needs To Be’

Bill Hemmer interviewed Sarah Huckabee Sanders today on America’s Newsroom, and he asked her to explain President Trump‘s shocking new tweets attacking MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski for having a facelift.

The deputy press secretary defended Trump’s tweet by reminding Hemmer that Trump “fights fire with fire” and “will not be allowed to be bullied by liberal media or liberal elites in Hollywood or anywhere else.” As Sanders continued to remind Hemmer that Trump won’t refrain from responding to “hateful attacks,” the Fox host asked “is that necessary?”

“I have heard that from you and I have heard that from him,” Hemmer said. “It seems like it is entirely more personal than it needs to be, and I’m wondering if you want to address that.”

Sanders continued to blast the “outrageous attacks” that have come from Morning Joe, saying all of it is personal and has nothing to do with the president’s politics. When Hemmer asked if there was some kind of backstory between Trump and Brzezinski, Sanders backed away and said she wasn’t aware of any such thing.

A spokesperson for Melania Trump offered a similar defense for the president’s tweets by talking about how he’s a counter-puncher.

Trump’s tweets have already received major condemnation from MSNBC and from political commenters on both sides of the political spectrum.
