Former White Press Secretary Joe Lockhart appears to believe that Rudy Giuliani is doing a bang-up job. At least in the manner that he defines the former New York mayor’s current job description.
After a jaw-dropping interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo Wednesday night in which the personal lawyer to President Donald Trump proclaimed that he “never said that there was no collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia AND proclaimed that sharing internal Trump campaign polling data with Russian oligarchs tied to Russian intelligence operations that interfered in the 2016 general election, Lockhart redefined Giuliani’s job in a way that actually makes sense.
“Rudy Giuliani’s number one job is to confuse people,” Lockhart said.
Giuliani and President Trump have claimed that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian interference operations numerous times. So Giuliani now saying that he never made that claim, is in fact confusing.
Lockhart then spoke about Giuliani’s dismissal of Paul Manafort’s reported sharing internal Trump campaign polling data with Russian operatives, saying “It is the single most valuable data that any campaign can have.” He then added, “very few people in the campaign see it, and the fact that the Russians had it kinda makes the case.”
