Pelosi: ‘Evasions’ On Capitol Hill Keeping Congress From Focusing On Jobs

During a news conference on Wednesday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that the House Republicans are more focused on a variety of evasions which are keeping Congress from focusing on the economy and jobs. Flanked by a number of her fellow Democrats in the House, Pelosi said that business unrelated to governing is preoccupying Congress and preventing the House from passing a budget.

“All kinds of evasions are taking place on capitol hill to keep us off the subject of going to a budget table to reconcile differences in the House and Senate bill, so that we can hopefully come out where the president is — with a budget that is a statement of our national values, that is a job creator, deficit reducer, and that we should be about that business,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi chided House Republicans for again seeking to repeal the Affordable Care Act without focusing on a jobs bill.
