As promised, President Obama joined Jimmy Fallon at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Tuesday night — and he slow jammed the news. “I’m President Barack Obama,” he said, “and I, too, want to slow jam the news.”
“On July 1st of this year, the interest rate What we said is simple: Now is not the time to make school more expensive for our young people,” he told us.
Fallon then chimed in: “You should listen to the President. Or as I like to call him, the Preezy of the United Steezy. Things are heating up in Congress’ chambers behind all those closed doors.” The “Pell Grant is a beautiful thing,” but is it enough? “Aw Pell no,” Fallon declared.
“Some in Congress disagree,” Obama added in. Republicans’ position is that “students just have to make this rate increase work. Frankly, I don’t buy it.”
“Mmm, mmm, mmm. The Barack Ness Monster ain’t buyin’ it,” Fallon crooned. If they filibuster, “they’re gonna feel it, Buster.”
Fallon got a little confused about the term POTUS — with Obama gently reminding him, “Jimmy, POTUS stands for President of the United States,” interrupted by “he’s the POTUS with the mostest!”
