Seth Meyers: Only Sean Hannity Would Be Like ‘Dear God, What Have I Done?’ When He’s Done Journalism
On Thursday night, Seth Meyers mocked Rudy Giuliani‘s appearance on Fox News when he made the stunning admission that President Trump had reimbursed Michael Cohen the hush money that was paid to Stormy Daniels during the election.
Meyers began by comparing the Trump presidency to a “TV show that’s out of ideas and recycling old characters,” citing Cohen, Trump’s former physician Dr. Harold Bornstein, and Giuliani as examples. He then mocked the former NYC mayor, who recently joined Trump’s legal team, for his interview with Sean Hannity, who he noted didn’t even ask about the Stormy Daniels scandal.
“Rudy?!? What is wrong with you?!?” Meyers reacted. “You’re the president’s lawyer and you just told everyone he lied on TV… on Sean Hannity’s show! You cracked under no pressure!”
The Late Night host then briefly poked fun at the Fox News host.
“And you know Hannity cannot believe he accidentally made news on his show,” Meyers continued. “Sean Hannity is the only guy who would say, ‘Dear God, what have I done?’ when what he has done is journalism.”
Meyers then slammed Giuliani for immediately contradicting himself on Fox & Friends about whether or not Cohen’s payment to Stormy Daniels was at all related to the 2016 campaign.
“Rudy?!? What is wrong with you?!?” Meyers shouted. “You just made the prosecution’s case for them!”
