Mika Brzezinski Slams Gingrich Momentum, Claims GOP ‘Clearly Don’t Want To Win’

video

On Monday’s edition of Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski wrote off the fresh momentum of Newt Gingrich in the Republican nomination race as “really good news for Obama” and ribbed the frontrunner as a “hypocrite.” “What’s great is that the Republicans clearly don’t want to win and that’s good for Obama,” Brzezinski snarked.

Brzezinski started off the segment by exclaiming it was a “great, great, great day for Newt Gingrich.”

“How excited are you for Newt?” asked Joe Scarborough “You know what?” Brezinski responded. “At this point, I’m pretty excited, I just think it’s probably really good news for Obama. So I’m not going to get caught up in, you know, what a hypocrite he is. It doesn’t matter.”

“Just stop that!” Scarborough interjected. “Come on!”

“No!” Brzezinski countered.

“Wow,” responded Scarborough, nonplussed by Brzezinski’s acerbic jabs at the former Speaker of the House. “I don’t know. I don’t know — I mean it’s looking pretty good for him. He’s moving ahead in the polls.”

“Fantastic,” Brzezinski joked.

Hahahaha….yes, Mika, it is clear as day that the GOP either doesn’t know how to win or doesn’t want to win.

Why would you send out your good lambs to the slaughter when President Obama is starting to look really good?

  • Anonymous

It will, and always does, come down to the economy.  All the other stuff wont matter when Gingrich
    1) uses his intellect to prevent Obama from dodging responsibility for it
    2) makes the case for intelligent capitalism  vs. the socialism that Obama clearly represents from those he
    associates with and his actions.
Talk Tiffanys and overweight all you want.

The real question is: Does Obama want to run again? After making a hash of everything he has touched, Barry may want to play golf full time. The Royal Obamas will have nowhere else to go on their sightseeing trips in another year. Who needs it?

“There are only two ways to look at the Obama re-election campaign right now: Either the upstart candidate who stunned the world when he defeated the Clinton machine to capture the Democratic nomination three years ago has lost every bit of that massive mojo, or the bruised and battered president, after three years in office, just doesn’t want another spin in the Oval Office.

How else to explain the nonstop missteps, the stammering and stuttering campaign, not to mention the brazen attacks on American voters, who, he has said, have “fallen behind,” lost their “ambition and imagination,” gotten “lazy” and “a bit soft” – this is a guy seeking the support of America?! ”

Its not enough for the republicans to lose the general election. In order for our country to get back on track, Obama needs fillibuster proof Democratic majorities in both Houses of Congress. Perhaps the republicans will cooperate with that.

Dummy, Obama had that in 2009 & 2010.
You liberals are really that stupid.

  • Anonymous

Actually I think “Jeff” was referring to the difficulty that Obama will have running in this economic environment. Remember that Bush I was at 80%+ after the first Iraq War and lost to a relatively unknown Dem from Arkansas. The only reason Clinton was in the race is that other Dems didn’t want to run in 1992 because they “knew” they would lose. Clinton was supposed to be a lamb to the slaughter. But the economy is the economy and it trumps all.

And the economy then was not nearly as bad as it is now. Some voters may still blame Bush II… but they can’t vote against him again can they? And those people are most likely Dems in the first place… so no net gain. Look… all a lot of us are saying is that you can rail against the Repub candidates all you want… but Obama is the only incumbant this year in this economy. I personally wish Romney or Paul or Huntsman or Johnson were leading in the pols. But as you’ve probably noticed my conservative opinions don’t seem to be mainstream.

Because Democrats aren’t usually moralizers whose private behavior runs at odds with their public positions on issues of personal choice. But even so, Democrats have generally paid a much higher price for their peccadilloes (Spiitzer and Weiner both had to resign immediately, Clinton was impeached) than Republicans (Craig, Ensign and Vitter all held onto their seats long after they were outed.)

  • Anonymous

But, Hillary never divorced Bill so child support was never an issue.  In spite of the rape of Juanita Broderick, the indecent exposure and harassment of Paula Jones, the fun and games with cigars in the OO with the little intern,  and the numerous attacks of women in the course of his career, he rose like a Phoenix and immersed himself back into the throngs of his adoring democrats.  What hypocrisy?

  • Anonymous

Was it someone in here that called her the Paris Hilton of cable news?  lol!

  • The Real Royal Emperor

Actually, Jeff wasn’t thinking at all, but you are, and you made a cogent, reasonable argument. Three factors make an Obama victory possible:

    1. Clear evidence the economy is trending better. There is some evidence of that in terms of protracted albeit weak growth, increased consumer confidence, improved retail sales. Also, world economies are teetering a bit, making the US look better in comparison. If this were to continue and to accelerate, Obama might be more prone to a Roosevelt 1936 position.

    2. More of a foreign policy emphasis in the election. That is becoming more and more likely, and Obama is a beneficiary of that. All of the Republicans appear weak, erratic or opportunistic on foreign policy, with the possible exceptions of Paul and Huntsmann. The Newt appears a bit wish-washy, flip-floppy on this. Bachmann, Cain and Tollbooth are absolutely amateurish.

    3. A poor Republican choice.

I think all three (3) have to converge, and only #3 is certain. But the chances are greatly improved over the last three (3) months.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

But, they do. Gary Hart, Ted Kennedy and John Edwards come to mind. All had bona fide chances to win the nomination, but effectively knocked themselves out of contention. For reasons I don’t fully understand, the party of family values seems much more tolerant of the Rudy! and Newt types. Even the Vitter and Sanford types on different levels.

  • http://twitter.com/Glamazondiva20 Edna Turnblad

So you admit that Clinton & the Dems are not a party of basic human morality or values.
We already knew that but thank you for clearing that up for all of us.

This explains why the Dems elected a rapist for 2 terms & why they turn a blind eye to all the rapes at the OWS slums.

Do your own research, you lazy ass bum. (Or are you too busy changing your name for the umpteenth time this morning?) I promise you it won’t take very long. Start with Vitter, Craig, Ashurn, Ensign, Duvall and, of course, Gingrich, all of whom cast themselves as defenders of “traditional values” (particularly when it came to denying gays the right to marry) and appealed directly to the “family values” crowd to get elected.

  • http://twitter.com/Glamazondiva20 Edna Turnblad

I agree that it’s a shame that Obama has been timid on this issue. But he hasn’t actively campaigned against gay marriage, he supports civil unions, has never played it as a moral issue and has said that his position is “evolving.” So he’s leaps and bounds better than any of these frauds.

On April 25, 1978, Clinton invited himself to her Little Rock
(Camelot) hotel room, allegedly to discuss her nursing home business.
There was another woman at that hotel that day, a nurse and friend of
Jane Doe No 5, Norma Rogers-Kelsay, who says she iced her friend’s face
immediately after Clinton raped and beat her. In a telephone interview
with NBC News aired March 28, 1998, Kelsay said Juanita was ‘distraught’
and in ‘quite bad shape,’ her ‘lips were swollen, at least double in
size.’ She told me they had ‘intercourse against her will.’” Kelsay told
Foxnews on 2/2/99 – “(Broaddrick) was hysterical – her lip was blue and
bleeding and her hose were severely torn in the crotch area…” NBC’s
Lisa Myers reported (3/98) that Broaddrick, now 54, recently denied
under oath that such an assault occurred. But Jone’s lawyers claim she
had told their investigator that she had suffered a quote ‘horrible
thing’ at the hand of Clinton, and did not want to relive it. “You know,
it was just a horrible, horrible thing for me, and I wouldn’t relive it
for anything.” She told them it had ‘turned her life upside down.’ And
NBC News has talked to four other people from Arkansas who say
Broaddrick told them of such an assault years ago.

Broaddrick, who calls Clinton “a cold bastard”, told the NY Post –
“If my husband had his way at the time he would have killed him.” “If as
governor of Arkansas he had not been so well-protected, I shudder to
think what my husband would have done or what would have happened.”

After very brief small talk, Mr. Clinton … got her onto the bed,
held her down forcibly and bit her lips. The sexual entry itself was not
without some pain, she recalls, because of her stiffness and
    resistance.

    The Wall Street Journal reported:

When it was over, she says, he looked down at her and said not to
worry, he was sterile — he had had mumps when he was a child.
Broaddrick told the paper: “As though that was the thing on my mind – I
wasn’t thinking about the pregnancy, or about anything, I felt paralysed
    and started to cry.”

Broaddrick said that as Clinton started to leave he told her to put ice on her swollen lips.

She went on: “This is the part that always stays in my mind – the way he put on his sunglasses.

“Then he looked at me and said ‘You better put some ice on that’ and then he left.”

She was found on the bed by a friend, Norma Rogers. Some details –
Clinton tore her skirt also, Clinton raped her twice in a 15 minute
span, and Clinton almost severed her lip in half he bit it so hard.
Three weeks after the rape Broaddrick went with her husband to a Clinton
fundraiser. She says it was her husband’s (Hickey) idea and that since
she was in denial and wanted her life back to normal, not to mention
that she hadn’t told her 1st husband, she went but became physically
sick after 15 minutes and left. Broaddrick was also appointed to a
Nursing Home Administrator’s Board, but she says she had agreed to be on
the board before she knew it was a governor-appointed position. She got
an official letter of commendation concerning her nursing home from
Clinton with a handwritten note – “I admire you very much.” Those
intimate words are very hard to explain unless Broaddrick’s story is
    true.

On MEET THE PRESS, Feb 28, 99, Bill Bennet stated that Clinton’s
personal records document that he was at the hotel at the time of the
rape. Bennet also said that White House staff on backgound were saying
that Clinton was alone in the room with Broaddrick and that they had
sex. Remember, Bill is the brother of Bob Bennet, the President’s
personal lawyer in the Jone’s suit from which this arises.

In 1991 at another Little Rock Nursing Home Convention, Broaddrick
met Clinton again, “I was called out of the convention by my name,”
Broaddrick said. “There he was standing outside the convention by the
stairway. I wish I had walked past him,” she recalls. “He gave me a
profuse apology and said he was a changed man. I gave him a few choice
words and left. I was very angry and he was covering his tracks.”
Shortly after, Bill Clinton announced he was running for the presidency.

“WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Scott Brown took over the seat of the late
Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy on Thursday, vowing to be an
independent voice in a bitterly divided Senate.

Brown was sworn-in by Vice President Joe Biden Thursday at a Capitol
Hill ceremony a week earlier than he originally planned, and just in
time to plunge into a partisan fight over President Barack Obama’s
choice of a union attorney for a top labor job.

Brown’s arrival in the Senate ends the Democrats’ supermajority and
gives the GOP 41 votes they can use to block President Barack Obama’s
    agenda.”

I have not seen that video… are any of the guys I support running on “family values” at that summit? And if Paul, Huntsman, Johnson, or Romney are running on “family values” have they not lived up to that rhetoric?

    PS… I’m actually asking.

  • Anonymous

You can easily find videos of their speeches.

The folks you’re asking about haven’t made this BS central to their campaigns — to their credit — but most of them are polling in the single-digits. Perhaps that tells you something about what GOP voters value these days.

It tells me that we’re doing just fine since a Sullivan supporter like yourself is getting all sorts of mad.

    Bill Clinton disagrees.

Mika has got to stop acting like she’s on Obama’s team. She’s not. She’s in the media, not in the white house.  Keep it up and she’ll be at Current TV, where once popular liberal media goes to ‘fade away’…

Ahhh..it’s the real royal pain in the ass!

He’s a hell of a lot better than the socialist, Marxist, communist, muslim currently in there…..you know, the one no one has any information about before he ran for Illinois State Senator. Curious, isn’t it?

ROFL!  You need to lay the crack pipe down and back away…STAT!

Air head Mika must smell the fear.  Being a liberal she should be happy for Newt to win the nomination, but no, she is scared he will.  Newt debating the man child Obama will be a hoot. Newt said Obama can even bring along a couple of his teleprompters if he wants.

    “Who served in Vietnam…”

And earned a bronze star, a silver star and three purple hearts.

Now what were you saying about him not looking presidential….?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TWK2YYJTTIDLZIVV7NKZM23Z6Q Tyler

As a conservative I can’t support Newt.  The guy has more baggage than the Beverly Hill Billies.  I might end up voting for a Third Party Candidate.  A lot of my associates in my inner circle are looking outside the party.

What is so great about a person who can’t figure out what he believes from one minute to the next? More importantly, he is someone who tells people that if they believe what he said in a prior interview, they are liars! Newt is trying to be everything for everybody, just to get votes from every area! He is a moral, and ethical reprobate, pure and simple!

Thanks for the profound insight, Mika.
Forget about “Death Panels”, the mantra of the Republican Party is now “Death Wish”. That’s how it appears to most of the sane public. There’s no way any of the current presidential candidates can win. With the exception of Jon Huntsman, these candidates are either too stupid, shallow, hypocritical and, in general, unqualified, and the American public already knows this. Most of the people who vote in the Republican primaries are by all accounts the most backward, uninformed  and bigoted people in the country, and they are the king, or queen makers for the Republican Party! Most of the rightwing loons are in complete denial about what’s really going on. Obama is not that unpopular and will regain support as the economy slowly continues to mend, despite all the negativity coming from the right. It’s hard to believe, but true, that you self destructive kooks and Kochs would destroy our country in your delusional quest for power. History isn’t going to be very kind to you people.

Hey, realjoe, he must be a real man, Reggie Love, his man servant,  laid out the mom jeans for him to wear to throw out that first pitch.  A real man would have never picked them to wear out in public, but then a real man would not of worn them…oh never mind.  Man servant, mom jeans…….

With Mika on the air clearly PMSNBC does not want anyone to watch their show.

  • Anonymous

I think you should spend a little time looking into that… Used a record number of times, in fact.

  • Anonymous

Sorry Edna, but you can not trust the Washington Times, for anything, except lunacy. Even before Brown took Kennedy’s old seat, it was not a democratic supermajority because there were only 58 Dems and 2 Independents

  • Porphyry

Actually Mika Bint Zbig clearly doesn’t want Republicans to win, but we already knew that.
