Obama On Katrina Comparisons: ‘I’ll Leave It To You Guys To Make Judgments On It’

During today’s presidential press conference on the BP Oil spill NBC’s Chuck Todd asked President Obama the question that appears to be upper-most in the media’s mind. Is this Obama’s Katrina?

Said Todd: “Can you respond to all the Katrina comparisons people are making?”

Responded Obama:

“I’ll leave it to you guys to make those comparisons, and make judgments on it. Because what I am spending my time thinking about is how do we solve the problem and when the problem is solved and people look back and do an assessment of all the decisions that were made people can make an historical judgment. And I’m confident that people will look back and say this administration was on top of what was an unprecedented crisis.”

Short version: I am not letting politics get in the way of solving this problem. Video below.

Obama responding to a question about Sestk:
“The public can trust that nothing improper happened”

LOL…yeah right. Can someone, besides a kool-aid drinking leftie, tell me why we should just take his work for it.

What happened to Government is the problem. Leave everything to the private enterprise. Now they are all now crying for the Government to intervene. The notion of private enterprise being in charge of people’s daily affair is nothing but baloney.

What happened to the notion that the government does a good job when it’s in charge?

  • The Real Royal King

That’s just something your ilk contrived, Blimpie. All the Marys in Heaven know moderates, progressives and liberal never said that? Do you recall anyone saying that when W created the largest bureaucracy in American history? I sure don’t.

I guess you mean me, on that one? “Blimpie?” Like the sandwich place? Hmm… Blimpie Best is a tasty sub… although, I don’t quite get the relevance. Okay, anyway…

If you don’t think the government does a good job when it’s in charge, then why would you call for larger government, program expansion, and more government control? Seems an odd thing to want if you believe they don’t do a good job. “Aw, the government is terrible… let’s put then in charge of healthcare… that’s a good plan!”

That simply doesn’t make sense, King. Sorry.
