Trump: I Thought ‘It Would Be Better’ If I Didn’t Do WHCD This Year

Fox News tonight aired an excerpt of President Trump‘s interview with Fox & Friends tomorrow, where he explains his decision to skip the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Trump tweeted on Saturday he would not be attending and in the Fox interview, he took some time to criticize the “made up” stories in the mainstream media.

The president claimed a lot of stories being run are “pure fiction” and said this about the WHCD:

“I just thought it would be better if I didn’t do the dinner. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to do it next year, but I just thought it would be better if I didn’t do it this year.”
