GOP Rep.: Obama Won’t Say ‘Radical Islam’ Because He Went to Muslim School

In the same interview where he said “illegal alien children” might be spreading measles in the U.S., Republican Congressman Mo Brooks posited that President Obama won’t say “radical Islam” because he attended a Muslim school when he was young.

If you were around in 2008, you might remember all the election-season talk about Obama attending a madrassa, a school where they teach a very radical Islamic ideology. Well, that was incorrect. Obama attended a Muslim school, not a madrassa.

Brooks didn’t go back to that line of attack, but he did say Obama’s refusal to say “radical Islam” is “probably an unfortunate byproduct of the days when he was in a Muslim school.”

Why would that apply? Because, Brooks argues, Obama was taught Islam is a peaceful religion and he’s “bought into it to such a degree that he does not seem to recognize that there are elements of Islam that are very violent.”
