Sarah Palin In Israel: ‘Thankful’ That The American And Israeli Link Will ‘Strengthen’
Sarah Palin traveled to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today and potentially as a response to many of her critics who claim she lacks experience with international affairs. Given that many likely Republican candidates for President visit Israel as part of their preparation for launching a campaign, might this trip provide insight into Palin’s intentions?
Palin spoke to a group of reporters in Israel:
“Happy Purim. Absolutely beautiful and overwhelming to be able to see and touch the cornerstone of our faith – it’s overwhelming. I am so thankful to get to be here and very thankful to know that the American and Israeli link will grow and strengthen as we seek peace along with you.”
During Palin’s visit she was surrounded by eager Israeli photographers, but it seems Palin’s hope is to focus on serious issues. In a statement from her political action committee website, Palin said “as the world confronts sweeping changes and new realities, I look forward to meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the key issues facing his country, our ally Israel.”
