White House Weighs in on Laurel vs. Yanny Debate: ‘I Hear Covfefe’

Never mind Gina Haspel‘s confirmation, violence in Gaza or the Mueller probe. The White House released a video Thursday joining in on the Laurel Vs. Yanny debate and offering a mix of responses.

In the clip, staffers are seen listening to the viral recording from Reddit where listeners were asked which sound they heard.

Ivanka Trump is the first to weigh in, claiming it’s “so clearly Laurel,” before giggling for the camera.

Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah and presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway concur, Conway adding that she “could deflect and divert to Yanny if you need me to.”

Then, the first dissenter is shown: Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley. He contends “it’s clearly Yanny.”

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is then confronted by the filmmaker who asks for her response to reports she hears Laurel.

Not missing the opportunity to take a jab at the press, Sanders says, “clearly you’re getting your information from CNN because that’s fake news. All I hear is Yanny.”

Vice President Mike Pence, apparently blissfully unaware of the debate, only says, “Who’s Yanny?”

And President Donald Trump ends the lighthearted video claiming “I hear covfefe.”
