Hannity Guests Battle Over ‘Lawless’ Obama Admin For ‘Luring’ Mexican Immigrants With Food Stamps
Monday night on his Fox News show, Sean Hannity examined a recent report that shows how the U.S. and Mexican governments are apparently working together encouraging undocumented immigrants in the United States to apply for the food stamp program. Hannity found it “pretty unbelievable” that the USDA would print fliers stating “You need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children” and invited his guests to weigh in.
Democratic strategist Sascha Burns said, “if this were about illegal immigrants themselves getting food stamps or welfare, you would have no argument from me.” But, she said, if you look at the policies in place, they are designed to provide assistance to the children of those immigrants.
Fox contributor Noelle Nikpour saw the issue a bit differently, arguing “this is about buying votes. Food stamps equals buying votes. And you can act like it’s not true, but this is nothing more than Chicago pay-to-play politics, bringing it on the national scene.” She added that the government is using food stamps “as a lure” for immigrants and called the practice of encouraging people to take advantage of the program “borderline criminal.”
“This is a lawless administration that does not respect the Constitution,” Hannity concluded, “and the laws that were passed by Congress and signed into law by the previous president.”
