President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un have been engaged in their historic first face-to-face meeting for the last hour, moving from one setting to the next. In an expanded bilateral meeting with their advisers, the press was briefly permitted in the room to witness the beginning of the conversation.
In the clip, you can see the handshakes, although the room is loud and filled with echoes making it hard to really hear much conversation.
As Sean Hannity notes in the above clip from Fox News, this bilateral talk was essentially right on schedule, following a private conversation between the President and the tyrant.
One particularly interesting aspect was seeing John Bolton sitting across from Kim. Bolton was responsible for the most effective and onerous sanctions the U.S. was ever able to put in effect against North Korea. Now Bolton is sitting across the table talking about, one hopes, denuclearization – the very reason for those sanctions in the first place.
A fascinating and historically significant moment, witnessed by the world. If only for a few minutes.
