» comments

obamasingingWith sagging poll numbers and an enormous health care debate on his hands (among a litany of other presidential responsibilities), Barack Obama found time yesterday to host celebrity supporters Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony yesterday in the oval office. According to GossipCop, the occasion for the visit was to celebrate Marc Anthony’s 41st birthday, and included the celebrity couple’s twin 19 month-old toddlers Max and Emma, who reportedly “ran wild” in the White House: .

GossipCop has the details:

On Wednesday, the couple began a whirlwind visit to Washington, DC, where they were first given a private tour of the White House, along with their 19-month-old children Emma and Max. Gossip Cop is told that while his parents spoke with Obama, little Max amused himself and “ran wild around the Oval Office.”

The celebrity couple met up again later in the evening with Obama at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s annual awards gala, where backstage before the president spoke, Obama led senators and members of congress in singing “Happy Birthday” to Anthony, who was honored at the event with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Lopez and Anthony were seated at the awards ceremony with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, whom you may recall Gossip Cop exclusively reported was the guest of honor at a private dinner party the celebrity couple threw at their Long Island, New York home on August 17.

Marc Anthony’s rep went on to tell Gossip Cop, “Marc said he couldn’t have had a more perfect birthday.”
