Obama’s ‘Confidence Borders On Delusion’ After Sharing Podium W/ Clinton
Last Friday’s joint presidential press conference featured the odd scene of President Obama effectively abdicating his podium to former President Bill Clinton, created a bit of a media maelstrom. Jon Stewart addressed the awkwardness last night, saying of the president “I’m not saying you don’t have Jedi potential, but maybe you should wait until term two before you let Obi-Wan back in front of the press corps,” before launching into the shifting definitions (and competence) of “Big Brother.”
After airing a number of clips of pundits celebrating a a US Judge’s decision that the new health care bill is unconstitutional and the scary “reach of an intrusive government” Mr. Stewart pointed out the importance of perspective, particularly in regards to partisan politics. “We all know the flexing of federal power under Democrats is Socialism whereas under Republicans it’s heroism.”
Yes, the sad subjectivity of Government as “big brother.”
