Thursday on Your World, host Neil Cavuto mixed it up with Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) over the Trump administration’s newly announced tax reform proposal. And things got a little heated.
First, the two debated the performance of the economy over the past decade — largely under President Barack Obama‘s watch.
“Could we have done better than the numbers in the last decade?!” Cavuto asked.
“Why are you yelling at me?” Ryan said.
“I’m not yelling at you.” Cavuto said, softly. (It might not have been yelling, but it was certainly in the ballpark, in our view.)
The skirmish continued for several minutes and grew contentious at times. Towards the end, Cavuto accused Ryan of condemning the plan without knowing all the details — many of which are not yet available.
“You already concluded it’s going to screw people,” Cavuto said. “And you don’t know that.”
“It’s going to blow a $2 trillion hole in the deficit,” Ryan said. “Who will pay that bill?”
