‘Disaster in Congress’: Trump Blasts Jon Ossoff in Back-to-Back Tweets

Donald Trump is taking today’s special election in Georgia very seriously.

The president, who was awake Tweeting unusually early this morning, slammed Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff saying he would be a “disaster in Congress.” Trump also said Ossoff would be weak on crime, the second amendment, and illegal immigration.

Ossoff faces a crowded and divided field of Republicans today in his quest to replace Tom Price as representative of Georgia’s sixth congressional district. Price left Congress to become President Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services. Ossoff needs to reach 50% of the vote to avoid a runoff, something which experts in both parties believe he has a decent chance of doing. If he fails, he will face a much tougher fight in a run-off election against a single Republican opponent.
