Gen. John Kelly Reportedly Told Jeff Sessions He Will Remain Attorney General

Despite all the recent tension between President Trump and Jeff Sessions, reports indicate that the Attorney General will get to keep his position after all.

Sources have told The Associated Press about a phone call which recently took place between Sessions and White House chief of John Kelly. Kelly reportedly said that even though the president is still upset with Sessions, he doesn’t plan to remove the head of the Justice Department.

In recent days, Trump has been slamming Sessions on multiple occasions over his recusal from the ongoing investigations into Russia’s 2016 election-meddling. The president’s comments raised numerous questions about whether Sessions’ days in the Trump Administration were numbered.

The president’s attacks against Sessions were negatively received by various figures in the media and political worlds, and some thought that firing Sessions would have disastrous consequences for the White House.
