Giuliani Apologizes for Saying Hillary Wasn’t in NYC For 9/11: ‘I Made a Mistake’
During a Donald Trump rally in Ocala, FL, Giuliani went on an anti-Clinton tangent where he said “I don’t remember seeing [her] there” to address the attacks and provide aid to the people. However, as old post-9/11 photos of Giuliani and Clinton circulated around the Internet yesterday, he took back his statements while speaking to the Associated Press.
“I made a mistake. I’m wrong and I apologize,” Giuliani said. When asked about the criticism he was getting in connection with the photographs, Giuliani conceded “I probably deserve it.”
Clinton has never claimed that she was in the city on 9/11, seeing as she was working in Washington D.C. at the time as Senator of New York. Commercial flights to New York were grounded after the attacks, but on 9/12, Clinton took a government-chartered plane to the city, and assessed the damage alongside Giuliani and Governor George Pataki.
