Kanye West Will Perform New Music at DNC Fundraiser in San Francisco
Potential 2020 presidential candidate and Ben Carson fan Kanye West will perform songs from his latest album, Swish at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Convention in San Francisco.
The event, which is NBC San Francisco is calling a concert, will also feature President Obama at the The Warfield on Oct. 10. The 2,300-seat music venue won’t be cheap, as tickets range in price from $250 to $10,000 a piece.
On the one hand, this is West flexing his massive entertainment muscles for the benefit of the Democratic party, something that the rapper has done before. Back in August, he and wife Kim Kardashian posed with Hillary Clinton for a selfie at a Hollywood fundraiser.
However, might not Kanye’s latest foray into the world of politics (and financial begging) be yet another sign of his supposed intention to campaign for president in 2020? He initially rambled about the possibility at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, and a super PAC has already registered and begun creating video ads for the run at the White House.
It’s still too early to tell whether or not signs readying “Kanye West 2020” will actually exist in the near future, but considering the 2016 election is still over 13 months out, anything is possible.
