President Obama is really not endearing himself to the press this week. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer noticed something interesting about the press conference with Obama at today’s Nuclear Security Summit: despite addressing a huge crowd filled with numerous correspondents, both international and American, Obama chose only to call on American male reporters. “What was going on there?” asked Wolf. Good question! Robert Gibbs‘ explanation was apparently that “there were a lot of mouths to feed.”
That may not cut it. WaPo‘s Dana Milbank wonders whether the reporters for foreign outlets, “many operating in repressive countries, got the impression that the vaunted American freedoms are not all they’re cracked up to be.” Blitzer video below.
