The Obama White House: There’s An App For That
Robert Gibbs – White House press secretary, Fox News guest, iPhone pitchman?
The White House is touting its brand new iPhone app, and Gibbs plays the Luke Wilson role in a commercial of sorts for the product.
“You can read the blog, watch videos, check out the latest photos and you can even get live video on your phone,” says Gibbs in the ‘ad’. “In fact, if you want to see me set the White House press corp. straight every day live, now there’s an app for that.”
And so on. Also teased at the end of the video is “mobile.whitehouse.gov” which is apparently “coming soon.”
With Apple in the news in a big way right now, and rumors the iPhone may expand to Verizon service as well this week, the ad/promo is certainly timely. But as for the tech side the story, it’s best to just go to our new site, Geekosystem.com.
Say what you want about this White House (and you likely will, in the comments), but they certainly are the most tech savvy. The app looks like a useful tool for those who are interested.
The promo for the app? Well take a look and decide for yourself:
