Jennifer Grey On Beating A Palin: “It Feels Damn Good”

video

Barack Obama, Joe Biden… and Jennifer Grey.

Yes, that’s your list of successfully Palin-beaters as detailed on Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.

O’Donnell had Grey on his show, fresh from her Dancing with the Stars win (hey, had you heard anything about one of Sarah Palin’s daughters being a contestant on that show?) and O’Donnell asked her how it felt–you know, to win. And to win over somebody who’s named Palin and all:

O’DONNELL: You have now taken your place in history, with Barack Obama, with Joe Biden. You have beaten a Palin. How does that feel?

GREY: It feels damn good.”

Watch it here, from MSNBC:

O’Donnell also suggests there may have been some concerns at the outset of “stuffing the ballot box” in the competition with a Palin among the contenders, leading Grey to wonder if “first place was out of the question.”

Grey said the risk of hijinx was “part of my reality.” Not exactly sure what any of that means, but I’m not here to put any babies in any corners on this one.

More PALIN-WATCH 2010 huh Mediaite. On a side note, Jennifer Grey was a professional dancer. I’m sure hope she won the competition.

It feels good. It’s like getting your nose surgically shortened, she said, after the old professional barely beats the teenage amateur.

Somebody put this chick in the corner .

LOL. Good point. To be fair, she worked hard to win and hard work should be rewarded. But the fact that she’s an old professional is very important to note. She’s a professional dancer, or at least was. How is that fair to the other contestants?

  • notsofast

She is just another hate-filled deplorable lib.

KING in the maison . ” …beating a Palin ” . This sounds good to me . All the Palins should be beaten daily , especially the children . I viewed this exposition last evening after dining on my Thursday night fare of two Ballpark franks , with succotash ( with just a pinch of dill and cilantro ) , pork and beans ( right out of the can ) , a pink lady cocktail ( with an umbrella ) , and a fried apple pie ( found in the dumpster , now ant-free ) .

    Another BHO failure:

“The unemployment rate edged closer to double digits in November according to the new release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, moving up two tenths of a point to 9.8%. The private sector showed disappointing results, gaining only 39,000 jobs after a report yesterday from ADP suggested much higher gains. ”

    BHO is a total failure.

  • Harry Flashman

It feels damn good. I’ll bet it does. Anything to get some attention and a paycheck at this point in her career, including (barely) beating a complete amateur on a silly reality show, should feel good.

    How old is this person?

Actually, I think this is a reaction to the November elections and the Republican take-over of the House. Employers assume Boner and Crew will be climbing in the W Jalopy for the last thrust over the cliff. After all, the period included all but one day in November. Just saying.

  • Cecelia

Grey is a terrific dancer, a professional from the movie Dirty Dancing, and the daughter of a professional dancer.

For her to feel “damn good” about beating Bristol Palin (despite the zeal of her mother’s fans) inspires the same twinge of sadness in me that I feel when seeing what Grey did to her formerly unique and sensual beauty.

Nope- just another Barry failure- one of sooooooooooooo many.

Just another month by month drip of incompetence from the loser president and his admin. Economists had predicted an addition of about 150,000 jobs and got a paltry 39,000..

Alas, Barry disappoints again. I guess Barry is still using VP Bite Me predictions.

KING at the plate . I am going to continue to mock and deride the Palin children at every opportunity and even though I am old enough to be their great grandfather , I just will never learn to leave children ALONE . However , if someone were to even mention the Obama children , I would decry the viciousness of bringing CHILDREN into play . I have decided , after much thought , that the new Speaker’s name will be the extremely clever and non-juvenile BONER .

  • skyfet

I bet it does, I don’t know why the T/P didn’t show up. Anyway, it’s just dance and Bristol is a descent kid.

  • sarainitaly

    tacky.

although, i did revise my comment after watching the interview in it’s entirety. She was actually a lot nicer towards Bristol than it appears by this snippit of a clip. Lawrence is obsessed with her beating a Palin. He couldn’t stop talking about Palin, Palin, Palin. I would have been annoyed if I were Jennifer.

What is she supposed to say ” It feels bad to beat a Palin”? When you know darn well the whole thing was ridged for more “Palin” attention. They are just eating up all this attention and loving it all the way to the bank.

barely? Bristol had the lowest score for that night, there was somebody between jennifer and bristol in terms of votes. How is that barely?

  • Just4thefax

Fact: Jennifer Grey On Beating A Palin: “It Feels Damn Good”. Lucky for you it was only a dance contest. If it was a beauty contest you would have lost earlier to Palin in the competition.

  • DonnaK

I’m sure Palin set the rules for her daughter to make it through to get some big money, or she wouldn’t have agreed to let her go on. Sarah Palin knows how to get the big bucks, we have to give her that. It was her plan to keep the kid in the headlines during the election, and the release of her reality show. Does anyone not believe that? She might be uneducated and ignorant, but she knows how to con people for money or support!! It is what she does best, certainly not governing. Did you catch what Romney had to say about not quitting, that he would not have done it!! Bet that pisses her off. Olberman was right this time!!

  • DonnaK

Did you really compare a beautiful woman, who at 50 takes great care of her body, to a fat girl that didn’t even have the discipline to slim down during weeks of competion? Even at 50, Jennifer Grey would walk away with the crown in a beauty competion with Bristol Palin. Come on….

  • http://twitter.com/SailRabbits Magister

I’m sure it felt good to win the dancing competition, especially because if you measure the press, Ms. Grey likely received the fourth amount of mentions behind Ms. Palin, the guy from Jersey and Florence Henderson.

As for the nose job, it’s an easy place for folks to make jokes. In fact, it’s so easy that in a two season show called “It’s Like, You Know” from some of the folks behind “Seinfeld”, Ms. Grey played herself as an actress who was having trouble restarting her career because the surgery had made her nearly unrecognizable and several of the early episodes had jokes on the subject.

Her dad is Joel Gray, one of the most famous song and dance performers in history and she is bragging about beating a girl who’s dance experience was the “Hokie-Pokie” in kindergarten? God bless her anyway. They both came out on top.

Personally, I don’t care about the politics of this, I just know that she was great as Ferris Bueller’s sister.

When Jennifer first learned to dance, the minuet was all the rage. Kudos to her for being able to branch out.

Palin is on the way up, and Grey is on the way down… I guess. Where has she been the last 20 years anyways?

Wait, Who is Jennifer No Gray Matter Again? Oh Right! She’s the chick who got Smoked in Red Dawn because she was scripted as the too Dumb one to run behind that rock formation and hit the hard deck character. So the Good Guys then Rigged her Excess Baggage Ass to blow Up when that Proggie Soldier came to have a Look at her. BOOM!

Now, I also seem to remember her doing that POS (Golfers turned Rahmbo Ballerinas) movie that was responsible for who Knows HOW Many Teen Suicides in the 80′s, thanks to This Metrosexual POS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMoMBFhMdDw song being played on a Loop, on the radio. So thanks for your contribution to the arts, Jenny. both of em’. lol.

Oh and Btw, why Did she have her Honker redone? Lemme Guess. It was a breathing disorder…Right? Yeah. And Rosie O’ has a Thyroid Problem every time She walks past a Dunkin’ Donuts.

  • Dandee

With the contestants on the last show, there were definitely TWO professional listed as a contestant. Yes, Jennifer you and Brandy are and have been professionals for years. SO, you didn’t really win as a contestant. You won because you had a GREAT advantage over the others. When DWTS comes back next season, I sincerely we watch ALL contestants that are actually NON professionals. I watched the first night of competition and you were the one I predicted would win, no sense watching the other shows. Well, the pity story on the last night of competition was a HUGE help to you also.

  • BlackWidow

Have to givre it to sara this time as she is right about the interview. O’Donnell tried to get her to be nasty about Palin but she didn’t take the bait. The title of the artical is not even correct. She said it felt good to win but she didn’t say is was a good to beat Palin. At least that is what I took from the show.

  • JamesA1102

    writer said:

Gregorian chants my have a beat but can you dance to them? LOL!

  • Phocus2

The broad is a pro, an old pro. When O’donnell asked the question, she had the choice of a classy high road answer or an answer that would make her look like a small hasbeen. She told us all we need to know with her choice. The sad thing is that Bristol was probably happy for this sagging use-to-be-somebody.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Leah-Ma/1391341060 Leah Ma

Just because she did some dancing in a movie does not mean that she was a professional. I’ve seen non-pros on DWTS do moves exactly like those that she did in the movie. Plus she’s 50 years old and had constant injuries while performing in the show. You did read about 2 surgeries she had before coming on the show, right? And the surgery she had directly after? Perhaps you’d like to dance with all that pain? And using such a derogatory term ‘broad’–nasty! Bristol was probably happy for her? Do you know of anyone who is happy to lose? Frankly if I’d been Bristol, I would have been embarrassed to have been on so long when my talent so obviously wasn’t up to it. Also, don’t forget last season’s Nicole was a pro–currently, not a 50 yr old handicapped one. Also practice makes perfect. I don’t think Grey has had any recent practice. So much hate here, against a 50 year old person operating under a handicap.
One question I’d like to ask; why are right-wingers filled with so much hate? Everywhere I go, when I read or listen to right wingers there’s so much hatred expressed. I watch MSNBC and I never hear anyone (well, maybe Olberman with his worst person thing) express so much hatred. Maddow, for example, is always smiling & laughing. She’s never nasty about anything.
For people who are supposed to be such fine, upstanding Christians, I see nothing at all like that in you people. All I see is you constantly calling Liberals & others evil, etc. This is why I stopped going to church. I could not tolerate all the hatred, intolerance, etc. I feel around me. What Jesus would think of all you people I just don’t know.
So much hate expressed in this column. Why?
