Kellyanne Conway Tells Fox & Friends Some White House Leakers Are Senior Officials

Counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway has been vocal in denouncing White House leakers over the past few days — following the controversy over the comments made by aide Kelly Sadler about Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in a closed-door meeting. Conway told Martha MacCallum Monday that she expects the leaks will result in personnel changes. And now, Conway says she’s getting close to identifying those responsible.

Thursday on Fox & Friends, guest host Abby Huntsman asked Conway if she’s pinpointed the leakers.

“Somewhat, yes,” Conway said.

The White House counselor went on to say that some higher-ups are involved.

“They’re not all in the press and comms shop,” Conway said of the leakers. “And they’re not all junior folks. I mean, let’s be very honest here. Hundreds and hundreds of people work on this complex. A lot of people have access to sensitive information.”

Conway went on to suggest that this White House — hardly a fount of transparency to begin with — is about to become a lot more secretive.

“I think smaller, tighter meetings are always a better idea,” Conway said. “You’re just telling people on need-to-know basis.”
