It’s hardly a secret that late night host Seth Meyers isn’t exactly a fan of the newly-crowned Republican nominee.
The Late Night host made headlines in June when it was announced that he has banned Donald Trump from appearing anytime on his show. “I think at this point, we are perfectly satisfied with not having him on,” Meyers said at the time, taking a stand against the inflamed rhetoric that Meyers had grown accustomed to skewering on his nightly broadcast.
Following Trump’s hour+ speech officially accepting the nomination for his party, Meyers butchered many of the botched moments from the RNC in his signature segment A Closer Look, deep-diving into everything from the boos heard ’round the Beltway (“Is there anyone more comfortable being hated than Ted Cruz?”) to that awkward will-they-won’t-they moment with Mike Pence (“Don’t tease us with an air kiss, Donald. America deserves better.”)
Meyers even cited the mogul’s moment of, “inappropriate father-daughter touching” from Thursday night when daughter Ivanka introduced her father before the Quicken Loans Arena crowd. As Meyers put it, “Poor Mike Pence must’ve saw that and thought, “Where was my hip tap?”
