Bob Beckel didn’t realize when the commercial break ended during tonight’s final segment of Hannity, caught in a heated off-camera argument with fellow panelist Jennifer Stefano. Off-air debates, we thus learned, are granted a much more colorful range of vocabulary than on-air debates, and as the cameras started rolling, the first words on national television were, “You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”

Now that the Trayvon Martin story has become a bona fide court case, the focus of the tale shifts from why George Zimmerman is free despite having committed homicide (lawful or otherwise) to what the results of the trial will be. On last night’s Hannity, Sean Hannity expressed relief that the system was now taking its course and support for Martin’s mother in her composure throughout the effort, and offered his prediction on what would happen: either Zimmerman would plea guilty to manslaughter, or manslaughter would be included in the trial.

Earlier this week, as an aside to a column about Sean Hannity‘s resurrection of a lie about President Obama and the New Black Panthers, I wondered why the Sanford Police had opted not to charge the group for distributing “Wanted: Dead or Alive” leaflets. On Wednesday night’s edition of The Young Turks, host Cenk Uygur introduced video obtained by Gawker‘s then-unknown Fox News Mole, and called the existence of the cable news saboteur “awesome.”

Alas, within hours came the news that Fox News had revealed the identity of the mole as O’Reilly Factor associate producer Joe Muto, and performed a quick excision.

Sean Hannity, who has had a unique role in the Trayvon Martin story, reacted to the charge of second degree murder today that George Zimmerman now pleads not guilty against, and seemed skeptical that it was the right charge to make. Consulting his panel of attorneys, Hannity wondered whether this was perhaps a case of “overcharging,” and hoped the prosecution had interviewed several eyewitnesses that had come forward anonymously to the press.

On his show Tuesday night, Sean Hannity directly addressed the elephant in the room: the chatter about George Zimmerman having an off-the-record conversation with Hannity, without going through any representation. As part of a despicable years-long attempt by conservatives to associate President Obama with the fringe New Black Panther Party, Fox News’ Sean Hannity resurrected a smear that President Obama “spoke with” the designated hate group at a 2007 event, and chirped, “There’s a picture of that!”

It’s a lie, as surely as Fox News contributor Deneen Borelli‘s contention that the President and Attorney General Eric Holder have “involvement with the Black Panther movement.”

NBC has gotten into a bit of a hole with a broadcast their aired editing the 911 tape of George Zimmerman calling to report Trayvon Martin before he shot him. Jon Stewart played the edited tape today and listened in awe as a pivotal bit of the conversation simply disappeared. How egregious was the editing? Stewart demonstrated by taking clips of “Jeopardy!” contestants and wondering why they kept asking what totally commonplace words are.

On tonight’s Hannity, host Sean Hannity and his guests took a look at something of a seedy underbelly of the Trayvon Martin story– the calls for violence from fringe groups that have attached themselves to the story to make noise, namely the New Black Panther Party. Their “hate speech” unaccounted for, the panel expressed concern about the ties between the President and this group.

Fox News’ Sean Hannity spoke to Ann Coulter Thursday night about President Obama‘s view of the Supreme Court and the homework assignment an appeals court demanded from the Justice Department. The president is distorting what constitutes judicial activism, they agreed. Coulter further added that usually liberals use judicial activism to their advantage, by trying to “invent” rights for things like abortion and gay marriage.

George Zimmerman‘s father is still in hiding after the national media firestorm that began when his son shot Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, but he spoke out tonight on Hannity, explaining behind a veil of anonymity his son’s side of the story and insisting Zimmerman acted in self-defense. Zimmerman appeared alongside his son’s lawyers, Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig, and argued Zimmerman did not follow Martin and only shot after he found his life in imminent danger.

Sean Hannity dedicated a segment today to his concern that comments Bill Ayers recently made are reflected in President Obama’s health care plan, and the President’s relationship with capitalism. While Tucker Carlson, who has met and dined with Ayers, shared Hannity’s suspicion that the President is “deeply suspicious of capitalism” and unprepared for the job, Kirsten Powers argued that he had done more for health care and the economy than any Republican.

In the past week of the media covering Trayvon Martin, Howard Kurtz observed that MSNBC and Fox News seemed to be acting in lieu of the prosecution and the defense, completely leaving the justice system by the wayside. Hosts on the liberal network are taking a much more aggressive line, especially in Lawrence O’Donnell‘s now-infamous interview with George Zimmerman acquaintance Joe Oliver, while the more conservative network has been more open to the idea that Martin may have done something to initiate an attack of self-defense.

The outrage over the way some in the media have been covering the tragedy of Trayvon Martin has crossed partisan lines, as last night Brent Bozell of the conservative Media Research Center targeted the “liberal media,” particularly NBC and MSNBC, for their role in advancing the story. Bozell spoke to Sean Hannity during his regular segment on the eponymous program and condemned the “falsehoods” of NBC and called the shooting “another Tawana Brawley moment.”

On Thursday night’s Hannity, Sean Hannity weighed in on Spike Lee‘s erroneous tweet targeting George Zimmerman, that inadvertently put an elderly couple in danger, calling upon President Obama to give back Lee’s money he helped him fundraise.

The reaction to the Trayvon Martin shooting has Sean Hannity extremely concerned, and with a panel consisting of Juan Williams and CL Bryant, he urged caution on jumping to conclusions in the case. While Bryant warned that “this powder keg can truly explode” and Williams wondered why this case resulted in so much outrage compared to murders in inner cities, Hannity noted that he had been criticized for preaching caution, but “we just don’t know.”

As the story of the shooting of Trayvon Martin has developed, shooter George Zimmerman‘s side of the story have begun to surface. On tonight’s program, Sean Hannity interviewed Zimmerman friend and former CNN reporter Joe Oliver and Fox reporter Shannon Butler– who spoke to a witness that defended Zimmerman– on the new evidence that may help Zimmerman’s case.

Kimberly Guilfoyle and Leslie Marshall joined Sean Hannity last night for his hour-long special on the “hate speech” of the left, and Guilfoyle, perhaps even more so than Hannity, let President Obama have it for his affiliation with Bill Maher– namely, that the latter donated a million dollars to the former’s campaign. Accusing him for failing to “show respect as a man,” Guilfoyle railed that, as leader of the country, President Obama owed it to women to condemn that language.

For all the noise Bill Maher has been making about not apologizing for his insult-laden jokes, Sarah Palin has remained mostly out of the fight, letting her daughter Bristol fight her own battle. Sean Hannity asked the original Mama Grizzly to weigh in on the matter last night, however, and she took the fight to the President for accepting Maher’s “dirty money” and for once having “mocked special needs children.”

On Thursday night’s show, Sean Hannity addressed the Trayvon Martin story. Mentioning the 911 call and talk of George Zimmerman possibly uttering a racial slur, Hannity agreed the case is tragic, but asked, “Is it possible it was just a horrible accident?” We just don’t know, he said.

In light of the recent Rush Limbaugh “slut” controversy and its close cousin, the Bill Maher “c-word” controversy, Ann Coulter has emerged as one of the more tolerant of entertainment personalities saying whatever they want. On tonight’s Hannity, Coulter reprimanded liberals for being, among other things, “utter frauds, liars, and hypocrites” and “horrible people,” but warned conservatives not to follow suit and take up the “offended routine.”

On his show Tuesday night, Fox News host Sean Hannity asked why it would be that President Barack Obama would decline an invitation to come onto the program for an interview. He has his own theory, of course…

One of the revelations from David Corn‘s new book Showdown that’s making waves is the fact that President Obama blamed Fox News for diminishing his support among white males. On Monday, Fox News’ Bret Baier attempted a brief “fact check” of the book’s premise that “fed by Fox News, they hear Obama is a Muslim 24/7, and it begins to seep in.”, concluding “For the record, we found no examples of a host saying President Obama is a Muslim.”

As the Sandra Fluke controversy flounders along as one narrative along the greater opposition to needlessly offensive comments in the media against women, Sean Hannity updated his audience today on the reactions of liberal women to attacks by Bill Maher in contrast to the response to Limbaugh. It was surprisingly silent compared to the previous outcry, a reaction Kirsten Powers called “disgusting.”
