‘It is News’: Fox’s Bret Baier Pushes Back Against Viewers Who Say Russia Stories Are ‘Fake News’

During a panel discussion today on Fox News, anchor Bret Baier took a moment to address some of the comments he’s been receiving on social media from viewers who are upset with him covering Trump/Russia stories.

Speaking to Fox News political director Chris Stirewalt, Baier explained the reactions he’s seen over the coverage.

“Chris, I get all these tweets and Facebook posts about why are you covering it? It is fake news. There is no there there,” Baier stated.

He continued, “But you did have the attorney general recuse himself today. It is news.” Baier further expanded on the details surrounding Jeff Sessions’ conversations with the Russian ambassador.

“Never check the mentions,” Stirewalt advised Baier. “This is not a day to check your mentions. Don’t do it.”
