Trump Reportedly Will Declare National Emergency Friday, Announce $8 Billion in Wall Funding

As first reported by Fox News and then later by other outlets including CNN, President Donald Trump is set to declare a national emergency and will announce that $8 billion dollars will be allocated towards the construction of a southern border wall.

Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade — filling in for Tucker Carlson on Thursday night — reported that he spoke directly with White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, who broke down where the wall money will come from. According to Kilmeade, $1.3 billion will come from the spending deal which the president is about to sign, $600 million will come from the treasury forfeiture fund, $2.5 billion will be gotten from the Department of Defense, and $3.5 billion from the military construction budget.

Multiple outlets are reporting that the president will declare the national emergency on Friday.
