Geraldo Rivera: Bannon ‘Kept This President in an Ideological Corner’

Geraldo Rivera was hopeful on Fox & Friends this morning that Steve Bannon‘s departure from the White House could represent a serious shift for the Trump administration.

He blamed Bannon for some of the biggest missteps of the administration so far, saying he’s been the source of “the worst excesses of the nationalistic kinds of policies that he has been infamous for promulgating.”

And now that he’s gone, Rivera added, Trump has the opportunity to “be the President for all the people.”

He believes Bannon kept Trump “in an ideological corner, when there was much more to the man and much more to the office.”

You can make America great again, Rivera said, “without aggravating and unnecessarily picking fights with people,” and Trump can now “dust himself off and go forward and say this is a new beginning.”
