Bill O’Reilly Questions Why NPR’s Nina Totenberg Doesn’t Face Scrutiny Like Juan Williams

video

NPR’s controversial firing of former staffer Juan Williams is still providing plenty of talking points for Bill O’Reilly, and he addressed the issue again tonight, this time bringing in Weekly Standard staffer Stephen Hayes and asking why some other NPR contributors – particularly legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg – haven’t faced similar consequences to Williams.

This isn’t the first time the Totenberg question has come up, and O’Reilly and Hayes hit on many of the same points previously made about Totenberg by Fox’s James Rosen – namely, her 1995 comments about late Sen. Jesse Helms, and (especially) her appearances as a commentator on roundtable show Inside Washington.

Hayes did allow that he thinks Totenberg “tries to be basically straight” in her reporting, but her involvement as a pundit on Inside Washington is “pretty bad,” and that ultimately she can voice opinions because NPR higher-ups “agree with her.” He also had some praise for Cokie Roberts, though she also “certainly comes from the left.”

They later returned to another two staples of the Juan Williams saga – NPR’s $1.8 million gift from George Soros‘ organization, which O’Reilly said could raise suspicion the organization was “bought by the far left,” and possible public de-funding of NPR. Williams’ firing provided O’Reilly with a wealth of material, but with so many topics we’ve already heard about, it looks like the reservoir might be drying up. Video of the segment below.

Because the White House agrees with her point of view . They ordered Williams fired because he worked for Fox . Soros wants a return for his money . Again , Podesta / Obama / Axlerod have screwed up . Their boss , Soros , will not be happy .

The second occurred after a Conway supporter stepped on the foot of a female Rand supporter, who recently had foot surgery, according to police.

The woman was wearing a surgical boot, but after the injury, her incision was cut open. Police say she refused medical treatment and also filed an assault report.

There’s a week left to go before the mid-terms, and BOR is still talking about NPR and Juan? Good grief.

On the bright side, at least he’s moved on from the topic of “The View”.

Where was Fox’s outrage when Randi Rhodes got fired for something she said. She didn’t even say it on the radio or national tv. OH! That’s right, free speech doesn’t apply to liberals according to Fox.

  • George C

Update: The Huffington Post has learned that Randi Rhodes quit Air America after being asked by the network to apologize for her inflammatory remarks against Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro.

A source at Air America, who asked to remain anonymous, said, “Many people screw up and then apologize and move on. Like Imus. Like David Shuster. Like Jay Rockefeller on McCain. Like Obama on Rezko. Like Hillary on Bosnia. Randi Rhodes refused to apologize for her obscene comments and has chosen instead to terminate her relationship with Air America.”

You dimwit, Randi Rhodes was fired by the ultraleft ideologues at Air America. File your complaint with the Thought Police there — if you can find them nowadays. Fox, in contrast, features diverse viewpoints every night of the week — so you must be confusing it with the MSNBC network. Remind me when Keith Olbermann had a dissenting view on his show. I’ll answer that for you: NEVER!

It is beyond obvious to anyone, that NPR employs a serious double standard. Ms. Shiller’s personal attack on Juan is the firing offense and the NPR BOD should relieve HER of her duties and FIRE her. They should then issue a public apology to Juan, along with a written apology for her egregious behavior.

The damage to NPR is very severe. Shiller has proven herself to be Soros “whore” (DNC and NOW approved terminology).

CHECK THIS OUT – from moveon’s site!!!:

” Here’s some tips to help you earn the best media coverage possible:

Be flexible. You’ll want to have a plan, but be ready to adapt and make quick decisions on-the-fly.

Find the Republican candidate. Our interaction with the Republican candidate will be the most media-worthy part of the event. Don’t expect to get very close while carrying signs or an over-sized certificate, but instead get a pair of people (the RepubliCorp spokesperon and a videographer or photographer) to join the greeting line, and present a small version of the award to the candidate.

Find the media and go to them. Your action is for the media. Our goal is to reach undecided or swing voters with a message about the RepubliCorps takeover of Congress. For that reason, everything you do should be for the media, or for taking our own video and pictures that we then share. You don’t need to engage or persuade anyone at Republican events, and you should avoid spending time talking to them.

Stage a scene for Republican candidate’s supporters. The reactions of a candidate’s supporters to the RepubliCorp brand is a compelling part of the event. Try to position at least one scene near or in the crowd of supporters, and try to capture their response to your action on video. ”

You can’t reason with DECEITFUL people, you must DEFEAT them!

Rachel Maddow Interviews Joe Miller – While Walking To A Car
    » 45 commentsby Glenn Davis | 11:08 pm, October 26th, 2010
videoRachel Maddow was excited, and she wanted all of us to know about it. She finally landed an interview with Alaska Senate candidate Joe Miller, the guy behind lines like this and ads like this. This was going to be good. She certainly thought so:

She teased the interview for her entire program (taped in Alaska), and then, at the end, finally showed it. And it was…well, pretty uneventful. She also called it “very strange,” since Maddow and Miller walked (and at one point, rode down an escalator) the entire time she peppered him with questions, with Miller eventually reaching his SUV and riding off with a thumbs up.

The interview itself was more mundane than the setting, with Maddow noting how important social issues were to supporters of Miller she talked with and quickly turning to gay rights issues. Miller was evasive on whether he thinks homosexuality is a choice, saying he’s “not gonna intrude upon an individual’s decision as to what he or she does,” as well as that it’s healthy to have “different approaches to different values,” and that gay rights should ultimately be a state issue – despite, as he admitted, his support for the Defense of Marriage Act. Then, Miller got into the SUV in the middle of a question about the 17th Amendment…and that was it.

Certainly, there was nothing nearly as contentious as Maddow’s bang-your-head-against-a-wall back-and-forth with Oregon’s Art Robinson (a welcome sight)…but there wasn’t too much material here, period – a fact Maddow seemed to acknowledge afterward, saying, “I did my best.” Video of the segment below.

So why did Maddow choose gay rights again when knowing she only had a few mnutes to speak with Miller?
I know that this is her #1 priority but she could have used the time on jobs, economy, oil drilling, the health care bill, social security issues etc etc.
Gay rights are important to alot of americans but other things are a bit more pressing these days. I agree what a waste of time.
I also agree she intended to trip him up but couldnt (good move joe)
So she has nothing to report on other than gay rights? She could have just sayed at msnbc and done that every night as always

Can’t you guys stop trying to promote this failed radio talk show host? Is it the gay thing that makes you guys spend your days trying to make her a success? She is failing on TV as she did on the radio. Her ratings are in the dumpster. Yet the MSM continues to treat her as the next Walter Cronkite. Yeesh.

Real dirt eating idiots! Oh, and if you really want some dirt on Millier try his own words after his employment records were released today.

Here’s the loathsome, contemptible character of the Democratic Left (from move.on’s site):

The woman was wearing a surgical boot, but after the injury, her incision was cut open. Police say she refused medical treatment and also filed an assault report. Hey KO- why was the second woman not on your show?

Here’s the loathsome, contemptible character of the Democratic Left (from move.on’s site):

TEACHERS GONE WILD! (video, cut/paste above)

Wanna’ see what the NJ Teachers Union thinks of YOU, the taxpayer?

…and the Democratic networks in Philly – local affiliates – are trying to discredit the filmaker!

You simply can’t trust the network media anymore. They CONSTANTLY attempt to mislead and manipulate public opinion to promote a left-wing ’social justice’ agenda that has failed wherever it’s been tried!

Don’t take my word; watch the actual, unedited footage, then watch the news coverage!

It exposes the news-media charlatans for just what they are!!!
