Rep. Clyburn: Obama Has ‘Much More To Do With His Time” Than To Handle Debt Talks

Video

Democratic Congressman James Clyburn appeared with Neil Cavuto today to discuss the stalled budget talks in Congress. Clyburn says Democrats are ready to negotiate, but “you can’t negotiate with yourself.” Clyburn insists it’s Congressman Eric Cantor and other Republicans who are walking away, because they wrongly believe President Obama is not focused and serious about working on the debt crisis.

Cavuto legitimately wondered with budget talks that appear to be “falling apart,” why shouldn’t Obama be more actively involved? Clyburn responded:

“We can’t have the President sitting in these meetings, three and four hours every day, when all of these other things are happening around the world. The president has much more to do with his time, and that’s why you have a Vice President.”

Cavuto pointed out Obama is finding some time to fundraise for his campaign. Clyburn instead then focused on the fact that cuts to Medicare will simply not be exchanged for more tax breaks for the wealthy. And without a compromise in sight, Cavuto predicted more trouble ahead for the economy.

This topic also begs the question:

Does Obama have the Fire-InThe-Belly ANY MORE!
    – and you all know there’s something to that!

Not only his half-humored comments about avoiding aggravation for the next four years, but his governance and deportment seems aimless of late; think John McCain wandering the stage during the debate.
    lol

Obama’s Eye-of-the-Tiger image seems more resigned to be the Fat-Cat Retire!
…which IS FINE, don’t get me wrong!! LOL!

Alright, the Democrat interpreter has arrived. Are we having problems communicating with the socialist…erm Democrat?

Remember with interpretation of most Democrats, you have to realize that what they say is usually 180 to what they mean.

So, compromise actually means that those EVIL Republicans will not allow us to spend another $1.65 Trillion more than we take in and ALSO, those EVIL Republicans will not allow us to raise taxes!!!!!!!

It took me quite a few years to be able to understand and interpret socialists…..erm Democrats. Be very careful, you can hurt yourself trying to understand them. They are by the way sociopaths for the most part.

Wow that’s a surprise. This is the guy who was blaming the 2008 stock market crash and financial meltdown, while it was happening, on the President elect. Basically Neil is sold on the republican strategy to keep the economy as bad as possible for the next two years, then blame Obama. And of course, notwithstanding that silly headline, the President does not sit in on talks that one side has intentionally stalled. That would be a waste of time.

Yep, you know what happens to commenters on that site that deviate from the echoes? Banned or the other commenters flag ban them. That is what Drink Progressive Koolaid does. They just flag anyone that comments they do not like.

You trying to change the subject of the article? Is that what you are doing? Did you learn that from Howard Dean or something? Address the argument, whining because people are here that do not walk lock step in with your beliefs is not new. What, do you want to start banning people because they do not believe the same as you?

Since all ideologies can post here and the majority of posts are not leftwing–that’s in keeping with the general population of the U.S. Gallup’s most recent poll shows that those who identify as liberal are in the minority. Sorry. If you want to avoid reading posts that deviate from your belief system, you’ll have to seek out a partisan website.

This website is about the media. I don’t know why you think it isn’t. Because it allows all voices to post that means its articles aren’t about the media? You’re not making sense.

You have to forgive Possibly. He thinks “media stories” means stories that bash Repubs only. Thus his confusion. If there is a media story that paints a Dem in a less than flattering light, well, then that is NOT a media story. According to his logic, the Weiner scandal was not a media story. Mediaite should not have reported on it.

“First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”

Jared Monti was killed in Afghanistan on June 21, 2006. He was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously, September 17, 2009.

When contacted about the gaffe by CBN reporter Dana Ritter, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said, “At Fort Drum, the President misspoke when discussing the first Medal of Honor he presented posthumously to Jared Monti, who was a member of the 10th Mountain Division. The President paid tribute to Monti in his remarks to troops in Afghanistan in March 2010. Last year, the President presented the Medal of Honor to Salvatore Giunta, who was the first living recipient of the Medal who served in Afghanistan.”

If he has time to take family around the world on vacations and attend $35,000 per plate fund raisers, I would think he could spend some time running the government. I am sure the Democrats don’t see it that way. He hasn’t helped small businesses at all. He took over GM and they paid the loan back with stimulus money. They never spent it. Why doesn’t Obama try and help small businesses? Why did he have NLRB stop Boeing from building planes in South Carolina? He was too busy worrying about the world’s problems to worry about Americas problems.
Sounds like he need to stop campaigning long enough to find out what is going on in America.

Let me explain it to you since it seems I have to explain it to ALL liberals. If you STOLE every dime that people who earn over $100, 000 this year, you would only get about $900 Billion. That is still $700 Billion short. What are you going to do for the other rest? Steal everything from those that earn under 100k?

You people do not get it! It is NOT a revenue thing, it is a SPENDING THING.

Have you not heard the latest news? They are going to have to steal an additional $1400 per family PER YEAR for the next 30 year to just get the public pensions in order. Oh well, maybe if you can get those unicorns and fairies to kick in!

Yes, that is what happens when you have a republican president and congress who believe in spending all the money around them and then run a “borrow and spend” policy

You have just described Obama and the Democrat ruled congress from the past 5 years…. you must have your parties confused or should I ask which is it? The Democrat controlled Congress and their hyper-inflated, shovel ready stimulus bill, that had absolutely no oversight or fiscal accountability (oh except Biden), or Bush?

And of course, notwithstanding that silly headline, the President does not sit in on talks that one side has intentionally stalled. That would be a waste of time.

Actually he does, and did, if you recall it became that circus called Obamacare. I truly hope he stays out of any discussion regarding the nations debt, every time he goes near a budget, I get a little freaked out. Somehow he keeps finding money to send overseas, but can’t seem to figure out where any of it goes here in the US.

did we hear anything from republicans about the ‘debt crisis’ while president bushwas in office?

Yeah we heard this. Can you guess who said it? LMAO if it wasn’t so sad.

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

This idiot actually has a seat in Congress…no…really!

Yea, we see how much more the Idiot in Chief has to do, like play Golf, what, his 223rd round or more, or he does have his 2012 campaign that he has been working on constantly since 2009, and lets not forget all those vacations the Fool has to take. Yes, I would say Hussein doesn’t have much time to worry about jobs, the economy, or how many soldiers he has gotten killed with his Idiotic Rules of Engagement. Lets face it, a Worthless Community Agitator is not fit to be leading anything more than a Toilet Cleaning Crew, as Obama has proved over and over. I know I will be voting ABO in 2012! Anyone But Obama in 2012!

If you love the Constitution, you must know that Clyburn is a VERY dangerous man. Aside from that, he got his daughter a really cushy job in the 0bimbo regime.

Clyburn is another poster child for the Democrats.
