White House Guest’s Criminal Background Catches Administration By Surprise

At a White House event in support of extending unemployment benefits for those who have lost their jobs recently, President Obama was joined by several Americans who would potentially benefit from the measure after recently losing their jobs. Among them was Leslie Macko, a woman who had lost her job as an aesthetician in a spa. Except Macko hadn’t lost her job precisely because of the economy; she had pleaded guilty to felony charges.
Macko had been previously in trouble with the law for larceny charges, and a month before she lost her job pleaded guilty to felony prescription drug fraud. The White House was not aware of this information until after she had appeared beside the president. Asked about it at the daily briefing, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs responded to a question about Macko by reassuring the press that “had that type of information been known… she would not have participated it the event here.” Which answers the question of how Macko got onto the White House lawn (no one in power knew of her past), but leaves unanswered how it was possible for Macko to get through the White House’s background check to get there.

President Obama gave an impassioned speech on the economy today in Parma, Ohio, and seemed to not only go after his GOP adversaries, but also addressed his rather bleak poll numbers of late. Sounding at times like his speechwriter was Aaron Sorkin (creator of West Wing), Obama referenced other great Republican presidents like Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, and yes, even Ronald Reagan, claiming that they were "serious leaders for serious times." Could this be the renaissance of Barack Obama's mojo?

Another in a very long line of “White House Gaff of the Day” for the administration.
It just seems they do anything to get their message then they have to spend time cleaning up their own mess.
Here is my advice to the Administration:
Forget about the 24 hour news cycle!
Take the time to look into the backgrounds of every person you want to put on display!
Quit watching Glen Beck and trying to outsmart him…you are light weights…Glen will beat you every time.
Embrace Fox News…they serve an important role in the news…ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN all tell you the same thing. You need an opposite view to make a good decision!
I am confident however that your egos will reject all of this and we will continue to hear “White House Gaff of the Day” reports for a long time to come. You just can’t help yourselves!

Just for the record…FOX isn’t ‘an opposite view’. It simply accomodates a truly conservative viewpoint. None of the other networks can say that so….compared to them, FOX really does seem to be in right field.
