Illinois County Sends Aaron Schock the Bill for Special Election to Replace Him
Aaron Schock was a star fundraiser as a congressman, but all that cash he raised might come back to bite him in the Instagram: the Marshall County Board is sending him the bill for the special election to replace him.
Schock, once seen as a rising star in the GOP, resigned last month after revelations about improper use of funds on luxurious trips and office decorations. The price tag on the election is $76,000, and the county doesn’t see why it should pay.

Per the Chicago Tribune, Schock has over $3 million leftover in campaign funds, “more money,” according to the county’s attorney, “than the county has in its reserves.”
Things keep getting worse for the disgraced congressman; in addition to ceding his office, several of his former aids have been called in to testify in a possible federal case against him.
