O’Reilly Goes Off on ‘Totalitarian’ Dump Trump Group: Trying to ‘Control Thought’
Bill O’Reilly tonight really tore into “radical totalitarian loons” joining a group that wants to hold the media accountable for its Donald Trump coverage.
The group Stop Hate Dump Trump says on its website that they “intend to put the media and political institutions on notice that they are accountable for normalising Trump’s extremism by treating it as entertainment, by giving it inordinate and unequal air time and by refusing to investigate, interrogate or condemn it appropriately.”
There are a lot of big names that have signed on, including Harry Belafonte, Noam Chomsky, Eve Ensler, Jane Fonda, Danny Glover, Macy Gray, Michael Moore, Rosie O’Donnell, Gloria Steinem, and Cornel West.
O’Reilly extrapolated the message about putting the media “on notice” as an attack on free speech (after arguing that any group that has Noam Chomsky in its ranks has no high ground to stand on when it comes to hate speech).
He decried them all as a bunch of “radical leftists” and “radical totalitarian loons” who want to “shut down expression” with “threats and smears.”
O’Reilly accused them of despising the “openness” of the Constitution and saying it’s “much easier to control thought when dissenting voices are silenced.”
