Trump Goes Off During Debate to Boast About New Hotel
Donald Trump took a one-minute detour during the first presidential debate Monday night to boast about his new hotel in Washington D.C.
“So if I don’t get to Pennsylvania Avenue one way, I’m going to get there another,” Trump said.
“We’re opening the old post office under budget, ahead of schedule, save tremendous money, a year ahead of schedule,” he said.
This is not the first time Trump has used the presidential campaign to tout his new Washington D.C. hotel.
Trump used the ballroom of his new hotel as a venue for his much-heralded presser about birtherism. Once the cameras were trained on him, he similarly gloated about bringing the hotel in under budget.
“I’m building a hotel next door, which is also located on Pennsylvania Ave.,” he said during the GOP primary. “I have an alternative if this doesn’t work out: I’ll still be on Pennsylvania Ave. one way or another.”
