Glenn Beck Is A ‘Ticking Time Bomb’ That Will ‘Explode In Roger Ailes’ Face’
Glenn Beck will not stay off of your television set. Though the Fox News host typically takes the weekends off, he played a central role in at least one segment on this week’s Sunday shows, as radio host Bill Press and Reliable Sources first chair Howard Kurtz discussed The Tearful One’s use of prostitution metaphors.
“So we know you’re hookin’ but you’re just not cheap,” Beck said of Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., and her big gains in voting with the Democrats for last week’s health care roll call.
“He said she was ‘hooking,’ basically called her a prostitute,” said Kurtz, before comparing the comments to Rep. Alan Grayson’s, D-Fla., describing a lobbyist as a “whore” last month — a controversy which got seriously play on Fox News. Perhaps a double standard was at work, Kurtz suggested to his guests, Press and the National Review’s Jim Geraghty.
Press concurred with Kurtz: “I am totally for talk show hosts almost getting away with almost anything they say, on the radio particularly. But I’m amazed how much Fox News lets Glenn Beck get away with. I think he is a ticking time bomb and one day he’s going to explode in the face of Roger Ailes and they’re going to be sorry they gave him that television show.”
“Nobody elected Glenn Beck to Congress… yet,” Geraghty countered. Check out the clip below:

Kurtz goes after FNC in yet another attempt to resurrect his own sorry network. Reliable sources is no longer a reliable source for commentary; Howie was just out “hookin” for his own network. Mary Landrieu did sell her vote for $300M, yet another corrupt politician.
Glenn Beck exploding on Roger Ailes face? Hee hee.
Having said that, agree completely with Kurtz. I wonder how far Ailes is willing to let Beck go with this. Beck is a big reason why FNC really isn’t a news organization, but rather an activist political organization.
I think the assessment that Beck is “going to explode in the face of Roger Ailes and they’re going to be sorry they gave him that television show” will one day be looked back upon as a sterling example of prescience. Like McCarthy did, like Father Coughlin did, like Jim Jones and David Koresh did, Beck will implode. The question is, how many people, guilty and innocent, will he take with him.
I would bet that Olbermann blows a gasket on air and that Beck will continue his entertaining news and will continue getting notches on his belt (he has at least three so far) while Olberman continues to grow greener and greener with jealousy.
Jealous? There’s nothing to be jealous of Beck beyond his Hitler-esque persuasion techniques.
Oh come on m, be honest. Just last week, Olbermann threw a little hissy fit because Beck was getting all the media attention and his healthcare clinic initiative was not. Olbermann doesn’t get the rataings Beck gets and he is so green with envy it’s not even funny anymore. Not to mention, Beck is winning in the news game, three to zero, Beck against the Big O.
I’m certain FNC will have a field day next week with climategate as well, and will laugh heartily at the media for ignoring the story completely, despite it being all over the internet and in foreign papers as well. The US media is ignoring it, except for a few words here and there, in order to protect the One’s upcoming trip to Copenhagen.
Beck is simply a ‘cleaner and more articulate’ Olbermann. But the main difference is that Olbermann’s targets are other media people…targets that his audience doesn’t watch or listen to anyway. Where’s the gain for him there? Having the ‘government of your dreams’ means that Olbermann has to–by necessity–wipe all those ‘government’ people off his ‘Hate’ list. Instead, he has to coddle them. And again: where’s the gain for him there? How do you ‘coddle’ a presidential administration that is failing at every turn? As for Beck, the LEFT HOPES he fails in (probably) the same way that Limbaugh hopes Obama fails. The Left has seen a pretty abysmal first year for ‘their side.’ The ‘look-what-we-inherited’ defense is impotent now. And if they feel 2009 has been awful, they really have no clue what awaits them in 2010. The assaults on Obama next year will make this year look like playtime.
haaaahaha, what does he know?
Beck will explode with this information on Monday’s show, while everyone on CNN and MSNBC (and ABCCBSNBC) will ignore it:
Climate change data dumped
Jonathan Leake [sic], Environment Editor
November 29, 2009
SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.
It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.
This story will and should blow out the upcoming Copenhagen climate change conference.
THEY CAN’T STAND HIS RATINGS, so they besmerch his character, and do just about EVERYTHING else…but the TRUTH WON’T GO AWAY, LIBERALS & PROGRESSIVES !
YOU CAN’T STOP THE TRUTH !
I really am embarrassed for the media. We have article after article on Beck, Palin, the party crashers, and Tiger, and this board is silent on the biggest scientific scandal of our times. The falsification of the global warming data is being discussed all over the internet, and yet this “media” board is silent on this incredible story.
The cablers have hardly discussed it this weekend, the broadcasters are too busy gushing over their time at the state dinner (see tweets by Katie and Brian) and next week we will have Afghan policy and Obama addressing the nation so the media will find another excuse to spike this story. But then….Copenhagen. Will mediaite ever address it? Evaluate it? Report on it? Or will you spike it????
Is Dan a newsman or not?
I predict Beck will continue to garner huge ratings, he will write at least 2 bestsellers per year, he will become the wealthiest opinionator in recent history ( Limbaugh included). That being said, I personally wouldn’t “Stand up and follow (Beck)” to the end of the tool bin.
Ailes will put up with Beck as long as Beck is worth it in rating (i.e. money). That’s what he’s done with
O’Reilly. Even before O’Reilly started to look half way sane up next to Beck!

And how exactly is MSNBC not an “activist organization?” I’m wondering what you think the equivalency is…

Funny… KO makes the comment that he told the President of the United States to “shut the hell up,” on his program, only because he couldn’t say “F**k,” and nary a peep from the left about how “offensive” and “insane” he is. A multitude of stories about KO getting kicked out of every place he’s ever worked for… reducing fellow reporters to tears… and receiving a life-time ban from ESPN (not even for reunions)… and yet, he is the poster child of “good journalism.” Yeah… perhaps if you knew how to criticize one of your own (ask Rachel Sklar what happens when you write something even a little negative about Olbermann), your constant wailing against Beck would have some merit. Until then, it’s just wishful thinking from the left.
(PS- I wonder if David Schuster’s comment about Chelsea Clinton got this much press. Somehow, methinks not…)
A couple of looney tunes on this thread. What a downer for you guys coming off a nice holiday weekend. JEEZ.
To TFT…You’re a moron! Beck is an idiot and ratings couldn’t help Beck or Hoffman. Also, you have noticed the skewering that both Beck and fox has taken from Jon Stewart, or, are you really that stupid. As for Olbermann, while he’s trying to help people who have jobs but no insurance, Beck is picking the pockets of toothless banjo players who’s parents were clearly brother and sister like TFT. You ignorant teabaggers are still pissed because we Dems STILL out number idiots like you. Fox may have great ratings, for cable anyway but, they can’t help you inbreds when it comes to elections. For us liberals, it’s the only number that matters. Stupid Hayseed!
OK, idiot Beck fans. Explain this comment. It has nothing to do with the topic at hand but, it’s a clear example of why we Liberals think Beck and all Republicans and Conservatives are inbred morons:
“Progressives have built up this wall of separation between church and state, and it’s nonsense”
November 25, 2009 5:49 pm
Now, which one of you mensa members will be able to explain why that statement by Beck is completely ignorant? What a dumb ass! As I posted earlier today, I’m living for the day when that nut job comes on the air, puts a gun is his mouth and pulls the trigger. Perhaps some of you NRA loonies could join him. Or maybe you should all go on a hunting trip with the Dick and the Daughter!
One more thing. Obama was spot on when he said that fox was not a real news station. Here is another example of why it’s true:
FoxNews.com misleads on FY09 spending to attack Obama as “Spender in Chief”
November 25, 2009 9:13 am ET
A graphic posted on FoxNews.com suggested that President Obama is responsible for all of the $3.5 trillion in federal outlays for Fiscal Year 2009. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has stated that “much” of the 2009 increase in spending “results from legislation enacted in calendar year 2008 in response to turmoil in the housing and financial markets-in particular, $133 billion for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and $291 billion for the estimated costs of placing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into conservatorship.”
Still think fox has anything to do with news? If you do, you’re a moron which is what you’d have to be to watch fox.
If Beck believes that the separation between church and state is a liberal facade, then he’s a fascist. Merger between church and state is fascism. Glenn Beck is a brown shirt. He’s Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin combined. We have an enemy within, and his name is Glenn Beck. We all need to rise up and live according to our true values instilled by our founding fathers, and that is democracy and anti-fascism. Did I mention Beck’s also an incredible racist? Just need to get that across.
Man, using Glenn Beck’s rhetorical style against himself is a lot of fun. I can understand why he does why he does. It’s so incredibly easy. Beck literally is an internet forum troll with a TV show.
The Beaver (aka Glenn Beck) is no different than a shock jock; he knows he has to keep pushing the envelope. His main product is fear and he makes a lot of money selling that product. When he stops making money from selling fear he’ll move on to something else like, oh I don’t know, maybe calling politicians prostitutes or Communists or perhaps he’ll go so far as to call the President a racist who doesn’t like white people. Nah, that’s silly, he’d never do that.
rox: “stupid hayseed”; “ignorant teabaggers”. Such good commentary — congratulations!!!
You can mock him, call him an idiot, call him any name in the book but you can not deny the score:
Beck: 3
Obama: 0
“Hide the decline” — it will break through the media stone walling today.
I can play your game too:
Beck: -999999999999999999999999999999999999999
Obama: 99999999999999999999999999999999999999

So you approve of just launching into a tirade of name calling, and expecting that to make some sort of educated point.
What am I thinking? OF COURSE you do… just read your comments above! Man, you guys are seriously becoming unhinged. You’re all filled with so much hate… hate for people who don’t agree with you… whether it’s other Americans, politicians, or otherwise, you just hate hate hate. And the rhetoric is getting worse. You’re losing you’re grip on reality… and if your comment, and the comments from the other lunatics around here is any indication of how you think as a group… YOU’RE the people that everyone should be afraid of!
Beck Derangement Syndrome has replaced Bush Derangement Syndrome and runs prevalent in the lamestream media. And Bill Press gets what for ratings? I recall sometime back in 1992 Larry King being quoted as saying that Rush Limbaugh’s 15 minutes were just about used up. 17 years later Larry may still be alive but Rush is the talk-show king.
Larry’s snide remark was SOUR GRAPES in 1992 just like Bill what’s-his-name’s remark is about Glenn Beck. I read some of Bill’s articles calling for the return of the fairness doctrine. The man is just jealous that nobody much cares what he as to say. I bet he’s hoping to set himself up as a liberal darling by bashing Beck.
My last word on Press is if you don’t like Beck or anyone else on TV, you can ignore them. You can’t do that to obama and Congress, can you!
Have fun with that.
ImNotBlue – Calling others lunatics, really? I think its you a few others who would love nothing better than to give Glenn Beck a lap dance…remember, no touching.
Go Glenn Beck! Keep telling it like it is. Call a Spade a Spade and a Ho a Ho! The facts are on your side. Mary Landrieu had to be paid off with 3 MILLON of our taxpayer dollars before she would vote the Harry’s smelly POS! Every one of the corrupt parasites in Congress have their price and they should be exposed!!

Actually, I’m not a fan of Beck’s. Too much “drama” on his show for my likings.
The difference is, just because I don’t like his program, doesn’t mean I hate the man, or will disrespect people who watch it. That’s part of that whole, “tolerance for all people” thing, we’re supposed to have. You should give it a try!
So, wrong on all counts… but thanks for playing!
One of these days Glenn Beck will have blood on his hands and he’s going to have to answer for it.
That’s all I have to say.
To m: Please explain your stupid sentence!!!!!!
I do not think Glen Beck, is in any way a time bomb. What he is doing it getting us ready for that big time bomb that is about to go off in Congress. Do those people really believe that we are going to give in to them on the most horrible Health bill ever put on paper. That is 2074 sheets of paper. No one in their right mind would believe that it will not cost us, trillions of dollars, less health care, no choice in our OWN health care and most of all that this government could possibly run this! We are now learning a bit about the secretary of Health by Not being able to get a simple Flu shot.
Did Soros just take notice of this site and hire some new commenters? The last three days or so I’ve noticed a distinct uptick in liberal bedwetters ranting and raving here (M, Roxsteady etc) with a whole lotta vitriol. Too bad to, this is a nice site.
ImNotBlue – Do you realize you used “tolerance for all people” and Glenn Beck in the same post?
Trust me, one day Glenn Beck will gather the media spotlight because someone who watch his shows, reads his books and listen to his radio show will think killing other human beings is the only way to go.
Beck fears this himself, he knows this. He knows what he’s doing. This is why he instructs his own audience not to get violent.
Ted says:

The Seven Best (Or, Somewhat Memorable) Moments Of The Jay Leno Show

After 95 episodes, the epic failure known as The Jay Leno Show airs its final episode tonight. Of course, Leno himself will be back after the Olympics, comfortably at 11:35pm all over again. Which was pretty much the problem to begin with - the 10pm offering started as a similar product to the Tonight Show, and only became more like the old format as time went on.
