Jon Stewart’s Barack Barrage Continues, With Diminishing Returns

On last night’s Daily Show, Jon Stewart fired another salvo in his recent bombardment campaign on Barack Obama. While some of his criticisms have been funny and on-target, he missed the mark on both counts this time. On the bright side, he did get in a nice shot at Fox News’ Gretchen Carlson right at the end.

It was barely a week ago that Stewart perceptively tweaked the President’s “ass-kicking” tone shift with a little vintage Dubya impression, but in last night’s clip, he seems to yearn for more. He also cherry-picks around the parts where the President actually did explain the plan, and he seems to have missed the news that the President really did kick some ass just hours before Stewart’s taping.

OK, I did laugh at that Wichita town council meeting line.

I don’t usually watch Fox & Friends, but in all fairness, she did say that “some people” were saying it sounded disingenuous.

Newt: I’m sad it took a crisis of this scale, but I’m delighted that the President has recognized that we, in fact, all are subordinate to a larger God and that we need to seek guidance from that God.

Gretchen: Did you find it disingenuous? People are analyzing that this morning as saying it was disingenuous coming from a President who does not go to church on a regular basis.

Still funny though.

The same hypocrite who says our energy costs must “necessarily skyrocket” to fund his political ambition, is giving Marie Antoinette a run for her money when it comes to spending national treasure on personal luxuries.
Add booze, food, security, invitations, social secretaries, wait staff, and hangers on to the tab and the price for one of these events could easily top $75K. With over 27 concerts hosted thus far, the total cost to taxpayers is in the millions of dollars.
estimated the Obamas spent at least $10 million on “drunken White House parties” in 2009 alone….the country is at war and a record 40 million Americans rely on food stamps to eat……Obama should show some class and skip the expensive partying.
