UPDATED: Journos Tweet-Tweet about Wee-Wee
A strange turn of phrase from President Obama yesterday has turned into a running joke for political reporters and everybody else on Twitter.
“There’s something about August going into September where everybody in Washington gets all wee-weed up,” the president said. “I don’t know what it is. But that’s what happens.”
Since then, wee-wee talk has exploded on Twitter; some want to know what the president meant exactly, but most people just want to make fun.
This morningPolitico posted some of the best wee-wee tweets from reporters in the capital:
“When will birthers start saying that ‘wee-weed up’ is an old Kenyan Muslim saying?” wrote The Hill’s Youngman on Twitter.
“Wondering if media elite latte consumption correlates to ‘wee-weed up’ factor?” tweeted Bloomberg’s Lizzie O’Leary. “So am I wee-weed up? I thought it was just allergies.”
The Weekly Standard’s Mary Katharine Ham chimed in: “My little brothers often weeweed up the pool in August.” And: “Yes, wee-wee, the sneakiest fear-monger. Tinkle, the silent consensus-killer.”
AP’s Elliott: “He’s probably talking about urologists, who are famous for taking excessive urine samples for extra profit. So ‘wee-wee-ed up.’”
Michelle Malkin blogged: “Is this some Chicago phrase I don’t know about?”
