Everyone And Their Mom Watched The Super Bowl Last Night
The overnight ratings for the Super Bowl are in, and they are yuuuuge. The big game drew a 46.4/68 overnight rating for CBS, making it the highest rated Super Bowl since the Giants and Broncos squared off in 1987.
The ratings are up 10% from last year’s Super Bowl, propelled largely by New Orleans’ quest for their first world title and the promise of a high-scoring game.
Not surprisingly, the N.O. market also had the best ratings by city, with a monster 82% household rating (Indianapolis had an 80%).
News of the overnight ratings also provides an excuse for us to post this picture, which looks like a scene straight out of “The Lion King”. Some day, Baylen Brees, this will all be yours.
