Rumors Of Chris Cuomo Resigning From ABC Are Not True (Update)

cuomoRadarOnline reported exclusively today that Chris Cuomo had resigned as co-anchor of Good Morning America, and speculated that he might land as host of NBC’s Dateline. According to GossipCop it turns out that they got this entirely wrong. Cuomo has not resigned from ABC nor GMA. Update – ABC confirms that the rumor is completely untrue.

GossipCop reports

Gossip Cop hears that Radar’s report is 100 percent inaccurate. Cuomo has NOT resigned from ABC.

We’re told Radar’s false alarm has sent shock waves through the offices of ABC, which is now concerned that they may lose the respected newsman, who’s being courted by other networks.

It’s well known throughout ABC that a Cuomo departure would not only be a huge loss to the news division, but it would also take a tremendous toll on the morale of the staff, which is quite fond of Cuomo.

Just six weeks ago, Cuomo edged out Stephanopoulos in an AOL poll which asked who should fill Diane Sawyer’s seat on GMA.

UPDATE: TV Newser reports that ABC News spokesperson Jeffrey Schneider has told them, “I just got off the phone with Chris who told me, ‘nothing could be further from the truth.’”

Awe! Don’t feel bad Chris. I’m sure Jake Tapper is also pissed because they’re now talking Terry Moran to replace Stephanopoulous instead of him. Of course, anyone who asks why the Whitehouse deems fox news as not being a real news organization should expect that. Remember Jake, if Rush Limbaugh thinks you’re a serious journalists, that means that actually, you’re not, and are much better suited for fox news where they never let the facts get in the way of a good Obama smear!

AFP’s Tim Phillips Defends Protest Where Sick Man Was Heckled

    video

After disturbing video emerged earlier this week from an anti-health reform rally where angry protesters screamed in the face of a sitting man who wore a sign identifying that he had Parkinson's disease (and supported the reform bill) MSNBC's Hardball brought on Tim Phillips, head of the grassroots organization Americans For Prosperity, which held the event. While Phillips condemned the actions of those individuals who berated the apparently disabled man, but said that it did not reflect most of his party's "civil" attitude during the Columbus protest.

Scott Brown On House Health Care Bill: “The Biggest Problem…Is Its Lack Of Transparency”

    video

Last night when Chris Matthews discussed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's idea of a "Deem and Pass" to get the health reform bill pushed through Congress, his main concern was that it would open up Democrats to criticism of using evasive tactics. And he wasn't wrong: Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown was on The Situation Room tonight, already chomping at the bit to discuss the "backroom deals....political chicanery and parliamentary maneuvers" that the House majority was using to "ram this bill through."
